The debut full length album from Portland's own How Strange It Is, 'In the light of the blistering moon' is a wonderful complete statement. The band of Portland diy staple Jordan Krinsky returns after their self-titled EP (bud030) with a new 4 piece line up with original rhythm section of Annie Miranda and Kyle Gordon but now featuring Yellow Room's Annie Fifer on Guitar. The record is highly collaborative and finds Krinsky's precise, introspective writing intersecting with improvisations and experiments. With the help of Vin Jeter (who also produced their EP) at the helm, the band organizes this collaborative chaos into tight, structured songs indebted to early-aughts classic synth-heavy indie rock along with 2010s bedroom pop and contemporary slowcore. We are thrilled to offer this collaborative release with Bud Tapes from Portland, Oregon :)
